How do I become a member?
First Lutheran holds New Member classes to help members become more familiar with what is involved in being a member of the church. Contact the church office or Pastor Paul at 218-283-2208 for more information.
How do I schedule a baptism?
Call the church and ask to talk to the Pastor. 218-283-2208 You can also learn more about baptisms on our FAQ page.
How do I schedule a wedding?
Again, call the church and ask to talk to the Pastor about your wedding plans. The church secretary will be able to check the calendar for tentatively available dates as well.
How do I donate to the church?
Donations may be made on a scheduled basis or a single gift may be made.
Electronic transfers may be made through your bank.
Scheduled electronic transfers may be set up by contacting the office as we participate in the Simply Giving program through Thrivent Financial.

- General Fund – This fund is for operational expenses.
- Endowment Fund – This fund is for the future. The interest earned is the only money spent yearly.
- Memorial Fund – Funded through donations in memory of someone. The monies are used for specific projects or needs of the church.
- Special Projects and Programs – Special Gifts may designated to help with specific programs; i.e. Youth or special projects; i.e. the Roof Fund.

How do I arrange a funeral or memorial service?
Please contact the church office at 218-283-2208 to start the process.
How do I request a pastoral visit?
Contact Pastor Paul at 218-283-2208 or email him using [email protected].
How do I submit a prayer request?
If you wish to start the prayer chain for someone, including yourself, you can contact either the church office at 218-283-2208 or fill out the form on the Prayer Request page to have the request passed on to First Lutheran’s Pastor and Prayer Chain Leaders. They will relay the request to the four prayer chains in our church. If your request is for someone other than yourself, you must have their permission or a close relative’s permission to do so. The reason for the request need not be stated, just the name. Remember that requests are confidential and will not be included in conversations with other people.
Prayer requests are kept within the Prayer Chains for 1 week unless specified in the initial request. You may repeat the request as needed.
