Food Shelf
Providing support for our local food shelf is an active mission of First Lutheran church. Individually our members provide direct financial support as well as providing support in terms of food goods. We work as a mutual ministry team to provide food donations during two seasons per year. The spring food drive begins in late February and ends in early April, lasting throughout Food Share Month to collect shelf-stable foods and cash donations. The second food drive begins in October and ends after the new year begins to help provide holiday meals for those who are food insecure. Because we see such a great need for this, we are always looking for new ideas that would work in our community.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
An ecumenical group that meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. to knit and/or crochet prayer shawls along with other knitted items, which are sold at our fund raisers. Prayer shawls are available in the narthex for members to give to individuals or families that are in need of comfort. The group has recently begun knitting/crocheting baby afghans for gifts at their baptism. Contact the church office for more information on this ministry.
Home Communion and Bulletins
Home communion is brought to those who cannot attend worship. Bulletins are also available to be mailed prior to Sunday's service. If you know of anyone who would like to be added to the list, please contact the church office at (218) 283-2208

Endowment
The endowment fund for First Lutheran Church of International Falls was formed to provide
financial stewardship for special gifts and continuation and expansion of the church. We
welcome monetary gifts in remembrance of, in honor of or from the estate of yourself or your loved ones. All gifts of any size are greatly appreciated.
This year we paid out $1200 in scholarships from prior interest to Parker Olson, Garret Froemke and Jake Olson who graduated from Falls High School and participated in our confirmation program. We wish them the best for their futures.
We do have some seats available on the committee that need filled. Our treasurer position has been held by Melissa Marcotte, and she has graciously continued to manage the fund even though her term has been up for many years. My spot will be open as well as I have been on the committee for the length of time allowed plus one year. I hope that we can generate an interest in participation in this committee. We meet only 3 times a year, so the commitment isn’t a strenuous one. Please inquire with the church office.
Blessings to you all,
Ronna MacKay
